Rope Access Work_Constructing Billboard Sign in Kimpo, Korea.
When it was constructed, the city of Kimpo in Korea invested a plenty of money on it which was well constructed compared to other billboard signs. It was used as parcel signing so had to be replaced when it's timing for parcel expired.
Different structure, which has a electronic display on bottom of it and fluorescent lights inside, made this billboard sign hard to finish the workload. Moreover, each four side of its main display, there were about 50 cm of size of panels so it causes uncomfortable to us after removing the clamp-cover, where it's going to be hanging.
The total size of it was 20m horizontally and 10m vertically.
Normally, when we construct these kinds of billboards sign, we pull it up on the top of the structure. however, in this place, we should pull it up by using a ladder truck due to its electronic display. That's why it cost more money, but less difficulty of constructing of billboard sign.
In order to finish workload on time, it was essential to recharge batteries before we use so that it is not going to interrupt in the middle of constructing.
After removed four side of clamp covers, some members should go downside and uncover the downside clamp cover. It's so wide and heavy, therefore, teamwork was fundamental element.
and also, there were several indirect illuminations lighting the whole structure way down there, so should be careful to throw the removed clamp to the ground.
In order to tighten the sign without wrinkles, there needed to tense both of bottom and above side of the sign equally. Under the situation that the distance from top roof to above clamp is about 50 cm apart, without laying down on top roof and stretching the arm just like that, it couldn't be reached. and also, the joint where the clamp screws tightened was sinked so we need to use universal joint for that point. and welding the universal joint firmly was not a choice but a essential for this extra-ordinary structure which was directly touched between the drill bit point and the sinked one.

Next to this place, there was river Han causing heavy wind topographically and it led us to finish the workload earlier that day afternoon. the bad situation blowing wind more harshly as time went by. Heavy wind is enemy when we're constructing these kinds of big banner. It made things slower and cause tiredness easily. So avoid from heavy wind if we can.
Several fluorescent lamps got out of its clamps when the removed sign fabrics fall to the ground. so in order to prevent an electrical problems later, we had to fix these matters before we leave.
On the condition after tensing both side of sign fabric, we gradually begun to tighten the bottom part. All team-members became one to start tensing the order. We didn't pursued a rumpled fabric, it was necessary the long experience skills.
